ABOUT US

Picture
We, Doug and Debbie Prevette, retired from education, Doug in high school agriculture, and Debbie in middle school math. In 1989, we bought 41 acres that was formerly in tobacco, corn, and forest. It was more acreage than we expected, but we believe that God provided the opportunity for us to live our dream and honor Him with it. Today, we are a diverse horticultural operation, with a greenhouse, plant nursery, three acres of vegetables, one acre of blueberries, a plot of grapes and blackberries, and a newly planted acre of peaches. We call it Prevette Family Farm because we want to stand behind our name, and that family is essential to how we operate. Our goal is to produce quality fruits, vegetables, and plants that are fresh and safe at reasonable prices, while conserving our natural resources and enhancing the aesthetics of the land.

Greenhouse and Nursery Plants

Picture
We offer a wide variety of greenhouse and nursery plants. Flowering perennials, shrubs, blueberry bushes, ground covers, and other landscape plants are in the nursery. The greenhouse has hanging baskets, annuals, potted flowers, bedding plant flowers and vegetable transplants.
Fall, winter, and early spring are the best times to plant trees and shrubs.  The roots will have more time to grow out in the soil before the hot and dry summer weather, easing the stress on the plant.

There is no sales tax on our flowers, bedding plants, shrubs, berries, or produce since we are a farm and grow them ourselves.
We invite you and your family to visit us, pick fresh blueberries (early June - late July), and bring a picnic lunch to enjoy with your family but please call to schedule your visit. We have table and chairs under shelter, parking and a clean restroom.

Blueberries
(You Pick or We Pick)

Picture
Our Rabbiteye blueberry varieties ripen from mid-June until late July.
Please call for availability of  blueberries.   Call to place your order.  When you call to pick you own or want us to pick your berries, we put you on our waiting list and as soon as the berries ripen, we fill the orders for our customers, calling them in the order on our list.  We have picking buckets, but recommend that you bring your own container to take them home. It takes a little more than an hour to pick a gallon of blueberries.
